This residence is a quick bike ride north of California State University, Los Angeles. The existing backyard space is connected with their tenant's residence with little to no privacy and beds of dark mulch. The client wanted to re-envision the space connecting them to their tenant's residence and to incorporate more privacy and entertainment space for family and friends to enjoy as part of this design. The final design incorporates a contemporary-style garden with the following features: artificial turf areas, fire pit & dining areas, outdoor grill station, complimenting ground surfaces, storage area, and native, drought tolerant plants.
